capnography website. Unprecedented encouragement from medical
professionals, engineers, technological innovators, and students
across the world gave me a sense of satisfaction that long hours
spent in the initial designing and deployment of earlier
editions of this website did not go futile. It is heartening to
state that over 150,000 personnel visit this site
annually. During the last few years, this website was able
to fulfill its goals and objectives as an avenue to provide dynamic, animated,
interactive and up-to-date information on capnography that is
easily and readily accessible to everyone without the hassle of
passwords. In addition, it is also serving as a forum for active discussion on
all issues related to capnography
in all medical fields as visualized in the number of e-mails being received
on this subject.
E-mails also suggested that the use of multimedia programs, digital images, and clip
arts, and real-time
animations, that convey the complex physical, physiological and clinical
principles underlying capnography, had a great impact on viewers in facilitating
easy understanding. A review in the 'Journal Anesthesiology,
October 2001, described this website to be equivalent to a
dynamic text book on capnography. Subsequent years have
proved this prediction to be correct. Unlike a textbook, this
site undergoes frequent updates on monthly basis to reflect
current understanding and concepts of capnography. This website also has been ranked as number 'one'
(most popular website) in capnography related search material by all
major search engines.
The highlight of the fifth edition, among others, is the newly added
sections "capnography in postoperative period, capnography in
emergency medicine, and capnography in emergency intubation". These sections will enable readers to
understand the current and future role of capnography in these
circumstances.
